Understanding Basic D&D Stat Blocks (For Use With A DCC Game)

There’s an update at the bottom

Giant rats ahead! Here we have a stat block for giant rats from a Basic D&D module. I’d like to use this module in my DCC game.

So upon first glance I can see that there might be between 2 and 5 giant rats. IF there is 2 They will have 4 hp, and 3hp. (Which I will likely be buffing them up a bit since this will be for first level DCC characters.) If there are 3 rats they will have HP of 4, 3, and 2. And so on down the list of HP.

When the rats bite you the damage they cause is 1d3.

Their Descending AC is 7, their ascending AC is 12.(As it is DCC we’ll be using ascending AC and will probably be bumping that up a little bit, or maybe just doubling the number of rats that happen along.)

What I’m having an issue with is what is their to hit? Do they have one? I have an email in with one of my experts to find out.

I found a very helful document at https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2qlP_VOf718LTFEc05ZVlpIU0U/edit

It gives a very good explanation of how to convert the monsters over.
